When choosing a photographer, make sure to look at their portfolio and read reviews from previous clients. Consider what is included in their experience. Here at WMNKND, we’ve created an all-encompassing body and self acceptance experience that goes beyond a sexy boudoir photo session. From pre session resources designed to help you reconnect with your body and get the most out of your experience to guided posing and even an on-site massage and same day image viewing, you’ll feel empowered, respected, and confident from beginning to end.
After choosing your boudoir photographer, you’ll also want to consider the outfits and accessories you want to use. I recommend choosing outfits that feel like you. Don’t worry about trying to fit into a box of what mainstream media considers sexy. We have a Boudoir Style Guide that we send to our clients before their experience to help with this process. Make sure to communicate your creative vision and intentions with your photographer! When choosing a photographer, look for someone who is trauma-informed and understands the importance of creating a safe and comfortable environment for their clients. During the photoshoot, communicate your boundaries and preferences with the photographer to ensure that you feel empowered and in control. Remember, boudoir photography is all about celebrating your unique beauty and embracing your body just as it is.

Select Your Favorite Photos.
After the boudoir photoshoot portion of your Day of Empowerment with WMNKND, you’ll get to relax in an on-site massage. I’ll be working on edits of your boudoir photos during this time. When you are finished, we’ll sit down together and you’ll see your photos for the first time before ever leaving the studio!
During your same day image reveal, you’ll select your favorite photos for your album. This can be a daunting task, as you may have dozens or even hundreds of photos to choose from. Start by narrowing down your selection to the photos that best capture your vision and showcase your personality. From there, you can further refine your choices based on factors like lighting, composition, and overall aesthetic. Don’t be afraid to ask your photographer for input and guidance during this process.
This is always the hardest part of the experience- but remember, loving all of your photos and having difficulty narrowing down your options is a GOOD problem to have! When’s the last time you saw photo after photo of yourself that you ACTUALLY liked? And don’t worry, we have options to include all of your photos in a digital file collection in addition to your boudoir album.
Choose Your Album Cover and Finish.
Once you have selected your favorite photos for your boudoir album, it’s time to choose a cover in a color and material that you love. The cover is the first thing you will see when you pick up your album, so it’s important to choose a cover that reflects your personality and style. Or maybe you want to choose a cover to match the room it will live in. Or maybe you are planning on gifting your album to someone special and you want to pick a cover in their favorite color.
You can choose from a variety of materials, such as leather (standard, distressed, and vegan leather options available!), linen, velvet (one of most popular options!) or silk, and add personal touches like an engraving. Work with your photographer or to create a cohesive and beautiful final product.
Decide if you want to pick up or have your boudoir album shipped.
Once your boudoir photo album is complete, you’ll receive an email letting you know and asking if you’d like to opt for local pickup in person or priority shipping directly to your home. If you live near the WMNKND studio in Leavenworth, KS or the Kansas City metro, picking it up in person can be a great option. Not only can you see the final product in person, but you can also ask any questions you may have, get tips on how to care for your album and see me again! 💁♀️ If you live far away or prefer the convenience of having it shipped, we always offer free priority shipping for our clients.
